This year, the excitement seems even bigger because America is marking the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. To be honest, I've never really understood the excitement. "If the Fourth of July is meaningful to you, I sincerely hope you have a wonderful holiday. It simply isn't a holiday that I personally connect with." That doesn't mean I think people shouldn't celebrate.
