When Autistic Laughter Wins (And Almost Your Bladder Does Too)

๐ŸŒ€ When You’re Not Supposed to Laugh… But Your Autistic Brain Says LOL Anyway ๐ŸŒ€
That time I nearly laughed myself into another dimension

Intro:
There are moments in life that hit you so sideways with laughter, you forget everything else—where you are, what’s happening, and sometimes even how to function. If you're autistic like me, that kind of laughter doesn’t just sneak up—it ambushes you, full-body style, and refuses to let go.

What follows is a tale of facial expressions, uncontainable giggles, and hallway chaos with my nieces. Also… I nearly peed my pants. This is your warning.

You ever have one of those moments where you’re not supposed to laugh—and that just makes it even funnier? Yeah. That happened today. And it completely wrecked me in the best way.

My mom was getting on to my niece Haley. I don’t even remember what for, honestly. What I do remember is the face she was making. Something about it just hit me exactly wrong—or right, depending on how you look at it. I tried to hold the laughter in, I swear I did. But my whole body started shaking like a soda can about to explode.

Destiny (my other niece) caught sight of me and immediately left the room. Which, naturally, made me lose it even more. I followed her into the hallway, and the two of us broke down laughing like absolute maniacs. I'm talking full-body, tears-streaming, can’t-breathe kind of laughter.

Apparently we weren’t as stealthy as we thought, because my mom overheard us and yelled, “Y’all just need to LEAVE then!”
Problem is… I couldn’t. I literally couldn’t move. I was laughing so hard I nearly peed myself. No joke.

I don’t even know what was so funny. It wasn’t the situation, it was the combo: the facial expression, the energy in the room, the fact that I was trying not to laugh—it all collided in the most autistic-sensory-overload-of-giggles kind of way.

Honestly? 10/10. No regrets.
Except maybe that bladder part.

Moral of the Story:
Laughter can hit out of nowhere, especially when you’re neurodivergent and your brain latches onto something like a facial expression in high-def. It might not make sense to everyone else, but sometimes it’s exactly what your body needs. Even if your mom’s yelling and you almost pee your pants in the hallway.

Thanks for reading, fellow brain-weird beings ๐Ÿ’œ
